The Cuisine of Thailand

The cuisine of Thailand is a complex culmination of many different ingredients, techniques, and influences. An analysis of the history of the Thai people, including their food and culture, is necessary to understand modern Thai cuisine. In this analysis, it is evident that there have traditionally been two types of Thai cuisine, Royal Thai cuisine and home Thai cooking. Upon a deeper examination of home Thai cooking, there is a complexity created from the cuisine variations in the different areas of Thailand. The variations, in regard to culinary art, are centered on the north, northeast, central plains, and south. Royal Thai cuisine, also known as palace cooking, is very different from home Thai cooking.

U.S. National Security Policy Towards Iran

United States (U.S.) national security policy towards Iran is a complicated policy that has drastically changed throughout history. In providing the history of U.S. and Iranian relations the complex nature of involvement will become apparent. Once a history has been provided, there must be an analysis of the current U.S. interest in Iran. What factors warrant a U.S. strategy towards Iran? Are there economic or political interest? After the current U.S. interests are exposed an explanation of current U.S. policy must be provided. Is U.S. policy entrenched in creating difficulties for the Iranian government or is there more of an open diplomatic dialogue? In examining the U.S. national security policy towards Iran there must be the inclusion of what problems within Iran can have an impact on the U.S. Are there environmental concerns? Once all of these points-of-interest are discussed it will be shown that U.S. national security policy towards Iran is aimed at reducing the damage of a tyrannical government and increasing benefit and safety to the U.S.

Surveillance Technologies

Surveillance is a double-edged sword. On the one hand it is necessary for security, safety, and a multitude of other reasons. On the other, it is a sinister tool ripe for abuse. Surveillance intersects with peoples’ lives in many ways. The three main intersections include in the workplace, as a consumer, and through the government. There are a number of surveillance techniques available to be used by these entities. These techniques are not mutually exclusive. However, certain techniques are more common to certain venues. Some of the more common techniques for each venue will be discussed. Surveillance is not restricted to any particular geographic location. Surveillance is commonly practiced around the globe to varying degrees.

Machiavelli: Teaching Lessons Learned from Other Teachers

Machiavelli has based his teachings in chapters six, eight, and eighteen of The Prince on other teacher’s actions. The first thing that needs to be made clear is who are the teachers that Machiavelli has based his teachings on? These teachers are previous leaders who taught their lesson through their actions during their period of acquiring and maintaining rule. Their lessons are teaching how to gain and keep power and how leaders should conduct themselves. This is an important lesson for future leaders to learn if they wish to succeed. These teachers provide valuable information on how to acquire a new principality, how a private individual can gain the principate, and how to act as a prince.
